What are the benefits of being an Associate Member?
Upon joining ATU, the Associate Member will enjoy a wide range of benefits, including:
- Having access to various meetings at which decision-makers and potential partners are engaged in discussions that can result in business opportunities and joint ventures;
- Making use of member contacts as an invaluable means of establishing a common understanding with potential business partners;
- Keeping in touch with ICT trends and information and having access to ATU lobbying services on key policy and regulatory issues;
- Keeping in touch with key issues and access to abundant first-hand strategic information on the state of IT & Telecommunications in Member States;
- Being in the forum that makes full participation in, and contribution to, the development of priority programs and projects in Africa possible.
What does it cost be an Associate Member?
Associate members share in the cost of the operation of the Union by making annual contributions. Depending on the size of your organization and the membership profile desired, there is a choice of three contribution levels which for the financial year 2011/2012 is: -
Corporate Gold: One Unit @ US$11,300
Corporate Silver: Half Unit @ US$5,650
Corporate Bronze: Quarter Unit @US$2,825
How does one apply to become an Associate Member?
Applications for Associate Membership should be submitted through any of the following entities:
- Ministry responsible for Telecommunications in the country where your company/organization is based or,
- Administration (Regulatory Authority) designated by the Government to discharge any obligations under the Constitution or Convention of the Union.
- Secretary General, African Telecommunications Union.
Admission will become effective upon endorsement by the Administration and registration by ATU Secretary General
